Rocco Columbus

Rocco Columbus has been with our firm since 2018. He brings with him a wealth of courtroom experience in criminal and civil matters through Virginia, from the Eastern Shore to Richmond and everywhere between. When Rocco was 11 years old, he corrected a Little League Baseball umpire who incorrectly applied a rule, citing to the specific rule and paragraph in the rulebook. It was around this time everyone around Rocco knew he was destined to become a lawyer.

Since 1987 Rocco has lived in Virginia, with most of that time spent in the Hampton Roads area. After graduating from William and Mary in 2002 with a government major, Rocco attended law school at the University of Richmond and graduated in 2006 and soon after was admitted to the Virginia State Bar. He has been a lawyer since 2007 with a focus on criminal, civil and traffic cases. He’s handled misdemeanor and felony cases, from simple assault to serious violent felonies. Rocco is admitted to practice in both the state and federal courts in Virginia.

Rocco started as a prosecutor in Brunswick County before shifting to defense work, where he has been since 2008. Rocco’s experience with bench and jury trials helps him to advise clients about the best course of action. Unlike others who are only familiar with one court, Rocco is known throughout many different courts in Virginia which helps him get results for his clients. Rocco’s family moved to Hampton Roads in 1987. He is currently a resident of Portsmouth where he lives with his wife and daughter. Rocco was born in Pittsburgh and remains a Steelers fan.
