What Should I Look for When Hiring a Lawyer? (Part 3 of 3)

Randall, Page & Bruch, P.C.

What should I look for when hiring a lawyer? Suffolk Lawyer Andrew Page continues his three-part video series on what characteristics to look for in a lawyer. The first characteristic is hunger – a desire, passion, and drive to fight for clients and get results. The second characteristic is communication – clients should be able to expect their lawyers to communicate with them about their case within a reasonable time. In this segment, Drew focuses on preparation. A client should be able to expect his or her lawyer to be prepared for their case. Whether it is for mediation or trial, a lawyer should know the facts of the case and the applicable law regarding the case.

Ask your lawyer how he or she prepares for a case. Do they use trial notebooks? Do they keep information in one file or multiple files? Do they use any specific research tools? Do they check social media and other websites with other publicly known information regarding the case? All of these are fair questions. When they get to court, do they have a case or statute with them? Do they have a memorandum of law in support of your position? These are all things that a lawyer should be able to answer quickly and easily. At Randall, Page & Bruch, P.C., your case is important to us and we thoroughly prepare to ensure that your rights are protected.
